Activities in 2019/2020
UPDATE: Due to the Corona Crisis, ALL PLANNED ACTIVITIES OF THE RIAB MINERVA CENTER, UNTIL THE END OF 2020 HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. WE HOPE TO RESCHEDULE THEM ON A LATER DATE. MORE INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS WE HAVE UPDATED DETAILS.
List of the completed and planned events for the 2019/2020 academic year of the RIAB Minerva Center:
RIAB Center Research Colloquium “Jerusalem and the West. Perspectives from Archaeology, Biblical Studies and History”, was held in Leipzig on Dec. 4-5, 2019.
RIAB Center Student Workshop on Ancient Ceramic Technology (for BIU students), was conducted on Friday, December 20th, 2019 at Bar-Ilan University.
RIAB Center Mini-Symposium “Cult and Symbolism in Ugarit and the Bible”, took place on Monday, January 6th, 2020, at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan.
Cancelled: A one day conference dealing with cult and related issues in the EB and IB, will be held at Bar-Ilan University on Thursday, May 21, 2020. The conference will be a joint activity of the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology, the Institute of Archaeology, and the Minerva RIAB Center, all of Bar-Ilan University.
Cancelled: A one day seminar on “Material Religion in the Ancient Near East” by Prof. Nicola Laneria (Catania/Florence), will be held at Bar-Ilan University on Thursday, June 4, 2020. The conference will be a joint activity of the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology, the Institute of Archaeology, and the Minerva RIAB Center, all of Bar-Ilan University.
Cancelled: The 5th RIAB Minerva Center Annual Conference (general topic – “The Aramean network: interdependencies and interactions in the Eastern Mediterranean”), will be held at the Leipzig of Leipzig and Berlin (in the Museum complex), June 8-11, 2020.
